A research team, in collaboration with an parts manufacturer, recently developed a smart sensor-equipped front and rear motorcycle bumper. Innovatively, pressure sensors and LED warning lights are embedded within the bumper. When the bumper is impacted or compressed, the sensors trigger the LED lights to flash in real time, alerting following vehicles. Simultaneously, it connects to the vehicle's system via Bluetooth to push collision warning information to the rider's mobile phone, effectively reducing the risk of secondary accidents. Furthermore, the bumper also features an automatic nighttime illumination function, enhancing riding safety. This smart bumper has passed national motor vehicle safety testing, meeting all indicators of GB 7258 standards, and is expected to be officially launched in the second quarter of next year. The research team stated that they will upgrade the sensor sensitivity in the future, adding collision force detection functionality to provide data support for insurance companies' damage assessments and promote the development of intelligent motorcycle safety accessories.
